In the end, Tears of the Kingdom has become one of my favorite stories of all time. I think Tears of the Kingdom had some great twists and storytelling to keep me engaged to the point where I was doing everything I could, as fast as I could, just to see how everything was going to work. Watching them interact with new characters, and also getting clues as to what they have been up to since the defeat of Calamity Ganon has been pretty special.

The characters are strong and likable, and Zelda and Link’s development continues to grow in the game. Although some of it is still set in the past and told through memories, there is still much to be done in the present throughout this adventure. However, as I’ve played through Tears of the Kingdom, I have to say that this story is superior in my opinion. Also exploring a Hyrule that actually fell to Calamity Ganon was also a melancholy take on Zelda, and finally coming up victorious felt like even more of a triumph in the end.

I loved watching character development in our two lead characters, and their commitment to working together as well as protecting each other. It actually became one of my favorites in the series. I, for one, actually did enjoy the story when it all came together over time.

Although Breath of the Wild is one of the bestselling games of all time, many Zelda fans complained at its “pieced together” story, wishing for something a little more linear.
